Frank C. Candela, MD, FACS
Dr. Frank C. Candela earned his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, and his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois. He was trained in the General Surgery Residency at Northwestern University McGaw Medical Center, Chicago, where he was appointed Chief Resident. Dr. Candela was awarded a prestigeous Fellowship in Surgical Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, where he served as Chief Fellow in Surgical Oncology.
Board certified by the American Board of Surgery and National Board of Medical Examiners, Dr. Candela began his surgical practice in the San Fernando Valley in 1989. He also served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Southern California School of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology. Dr. Candela is also the author of numerous articles published in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. He is affiliated with West Hills Hospital, Providence Tarzana Medical Center, and Motion Picture Television Fund Hospital. Dr. Candela is a former Chief of Staff at both West Hills Hospital, and Motion Picture and Televison Fund Hospital.
Dr. Candela is married and has five children. He is avid runner who enjoys hiking, camping and playing his guitar.
